    LOCATION: City of Los Santos, SA

    DEPARTMENT: Fire sworn

    DUTIES: Entry-level duties of the Los Santos Fire Department include engaging directly in firefighting suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services within the City of Los Santos and its associated, unincorporated counties; additional duties include hazardous material response, arson investigation, building inspections (in accordance with the Fire Code), and administrative work.

    REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
    • Applicants are required to be 18 years of age at the time of application;
    • Applicants are required to possess a valid drivers license within the State of San Andreas;
    • Applicants are required to have no criminal history beyond civil/traffic infractions;
    • Applicants are required to be a graduate of a United States High School or G.E.D equivalent;
    • Applicants are required to maintain fluent communicative skills within the English language, both written and verbal;
    • Applicants are required to obtain the Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T) certification throughout the recruiting period, if not already certified within the State of San Andreas;
    • (( Applicants must not have a recent or excessive admin record on any character. Recent is typically defined as one month/30 days, with excessive records being determined case-to-case; ))
    • (( Applicants must disclose information that may affect the status of their application. This includes previous terminations and bans from a legal faction, any current bans from a legal faction, admin history on the LS-RP forums and game-server; ))
    • (( Applicants must not be actively banned or otherwise barred from the Los Santos Fire Department; ))
    • (( Applicants must not be in another official faction on the character they are applying with. Double Faction Permission must be obtained if in an official faction on a separate character; ))
    • (( Applicants must be able to roleplay in a realistic fashion and display proper character development; ))
    • (( Applicants must have their forum name in the format of Firstname_Lastname. ))

    SELECTION PROCESS:
    • Stage 1 — Personal Eligibility Review: In this stage, prospective applicants are expected to review the minimum requirements, qualifications, and other information relevant to the position being offered. Prospective applicants are expected to compile information relevant to Stage 2, i.e: personal details, education, prior employment.
    • Stage 2 — Firefighter Application: In this stage, prospective applicants obtain an online form and fill it to the best of their ability using information gathered in Stage 1. The application is submitted and received by the Recruitment Unit.
    • Stage 3 — Firefighter Application Review: In this stage, the application is reviewed by the Recruitment Unit for many factors, criminal and general background history is also assessed. Verdicts receive approval from a senior officer before being forwarded to the applicant. Several of the following may occur during this stage:
      • Stage 3 — Possibility 1: The application is returned to the applicant for amendment. The applicant must address the issues raised and return the application within 24 hours;
      • Stage 3 — Possibility 2: The application is placed on hold, and the applicant may be notified. This is typically due to inconsistencies, potential problems, or for further investigation;
      • Stage 3 — Possibility 3: The application is determined to be acceptable and the applicant is pushed to Stage 4;
      • Stage 3 — Possibility 4: The application is not successful, and the applicant may submit another application next drive;
      • Stage 3 — Possibility 5: The application is not successful, and the applicant may not submit any further applications;
    • Stage 4 — Written Essay: In this stage, the applicant must complete a written essay to test and affirm their knowledge of the English language. The essay will also go over more of their qualifications and ambitions;
    • Stage 5 — Oral Interview: In this stage, the applicant meets with a certified employee of the Recruitment Unit for an interview at the Training Centre. The interview assesses several traits and is a great way for applicants to give a good first impression.

      The interview is scored out of 100, based on the performance of the applicant. The following happens:
      • Stage 5 — Possibility 1: The applicant receives a score below 70. The prospective applicant is removed from the Recruitment Process and returned a letter detailing their removal;
      • Stage 5 — Possibility 2: The applicant recruit receives a score at or above 70. The prospective applicant is passed on to Stage 6 of the Recruitment Process. The prospective applicant is returned a letter detailing their next steps;

    TRAINING PROCESS:
    Note: Starting with Stage 1, applicants are formally recognized as a Fire Recruit and are paid for the duration of this process.
    • Stage 1 — Fire Academy: In this stage, Fire Recruits attend months of training relevant to the position of Firefighter. The academy is split into the following sub-stages:
      • Stage 1.1 — EMT Classes: In this sub-stage, Fire Recruits attend at least 10 classes over the span of 3 months in order to obtain the Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T) qualification;
      • Stage 1.2 — Firefighter Classes: In this sub-stage, Fire Recruits attend at least 10 classes over the span of 3 months in order to obtain the Firefighting qualification;
        (( Fire Recruits are expected to attend at least one class for 1.1 and 1.2 each in out-of-character time, usually lasting between 60-90 minutes. ))
    • Stage 2 — Firefighter Examination: In this stage, Fire Recruits must complete a written examination divided into EMT and Firefighter sections. A passing grade of 70 must be achieved;
    • Stage 3 — Graduation Ceremony: In this stage, Fire Recruits who have attained a passing score of 70% on the firefighter examination will be invited to a graduation ceremony hosted by the Fire Chief at the Recruit Training Academy auditorium in San Fierro. Fire Recruits will be sworn in and receive their badge for the position of Firefighter I within the Los Santos Fire Department.
